Best Things to do on Nantucket This Spring
Did you know that nearly half of Nantucket's 30,000 acres are protected from development? The pristine untouched nature and wide-open land make Nantucket the perfect place to get away from the hustle of daily life. You can go biking, hiking, birdwatching, or just stroll the 82 miles of shoreline on Nantucket.
Coatue Wildlife Refuge & Great Point Lighthouse
The Coskata-Coatue Wildlife Refuge is comprised of two long peninsulas with rolling sand dunes. This refuge is home to one of the three Nantucket lighthouses, the Great Point Lighthouse, which you can tour seasonally. You can also explore the trails at Coatue: Beach Trail, Inside Trail, and Coskata Woods Trail. This beautiful coastline park is great for wildlife viewing where you can see deer, seals, and a variety of shorebirds.
Explore Coatue Wildlife Refuge via Jeep Rentals
Much of this remote refuge can only be accessed by a 4x4 vehicle, which is why renting a jeep is a fun way to explore the land. When you rent a 4x4 vehicle, it comes with a beach permit, which is required to drive on the beaches of Nantucket.
'Sconset Bluff Walk
Also known as the Cliff Walk, the 'Sconset Bluff Walk is a beautiful scenic path that goes from the village of Siasconset to Sankaty Head Lighthouse. The trail goes past picturesque Nantucket summer homes, through sand bluffs, and then to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. The trail starts on Front Street near the Sconset Market. The trail isn't marked, so ask our on-site property manager for directions getting to this trail or view this map. Be sure to stick to the path as you're walking past private homes and residences.
Sesachacha Heathlands Wildlife Sanctuary
The Seschacha Heathlands Wildlife Sanctuary is home to two rare habitats: coastal heathland and sandplain grassland. Home to more than 300 recorded native and migratory bird species, this sanctuary is perfect for birdwatching and nature walks. There are 5 miles of trails that take you through the diverse coastal habitats and along the Seschacha Pond.

Nantucket Vacation Tips for Spring
Come Prepared For All Kinds of Weather
The weather on Nantucket during the spring can range from sunny and in the 60s to rainy and in the 40s, so come prepared with layers and rain apparel. Bring your sunscreen and sunglasses as well as some cozy sweaters and rain-friendly shoes. The combination of the beautiful sunny days and the cozy rainy days provides an authentic Nantucket experience.
Nantucket Restaurant Regulations
Restaurants are currently open at a limited capacity. We encourage everyone to be kind and courteous to restaurant staff who are doing their best to serve at the capacity of which they are allowed. Be sure to check ahead of time for updated hours or service. Luckily, spring travel is much lighter than in summer so you won't be competing with as many others to get a table. Most Nantucket restaurants are also offering to-go options that you can bring back to your rental, or grab food at the Stop and Shop or the Nantucket Fish and Meat Market to cook at home.
